That's when it got derailed.
Alicia had a meeting with someone at the company she worked for last summer. Basically, they want her to work for them (in a different department) full-time until she goes back to school (or later if she ends up not going back; if nobody is going to be in dorms, she won't have to go back early for her RA duties). Completely at home during that entire period even if the office re-opens, and paying her $20/hour. Which, for what is being called an intern position, is pretty damn good.
So Craig wanted to celebrate with food.
I mitigated the damage eating out could've caused by pushing for sushi. It wasn't as good a choice as what I had planned (which is now tomorrow's dinner), but it could've been a lot worse because smothered burritos and barbecue were both brought up at one point. And then we all got into the pool for an hour and a half where I made sure to do plenty of arm and leg exercises. I still expect the scale to be pissy in the morning, but it could've been a lot worse.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :)
