So I'm sitting here in the Philly airport, waiting for my flight to take me home after a grand weekend at Phauxcon 5.0, and I decide I'll kill some time by posting. And then I see I haven't posted since September 22?!? I am a bad, bad LJer, especially since I didn't give two hooies about all the drama this past summer. I can't even use that as an excuse. I think my only excuse is sheer boredom with my life.
pepperlandgirl4 and I had another release come out. Mosaic Moon, the third book in The Master Chronicles came out last weekend. Our next releases aren't until December now, though we each have a few solo releases before then.
What else...? I'm really hard pressed to think of anything. It was great seeing everybody this weekend, and getting to meet
ladypeyton for the first time. Shannon and Jim Butcher are absolute delights. Pepper and I wrote a 14k short story we're going to try submitting to Ellora's Cave. If they don't take it, we'll probably expand it (there's definitely room to build the UST) and send it over to Amber Quill. Craig and I were just starting to watch all the premieres on tv last week before I had to leave. I think the only shows we're adding are Chuck and Kitchen Nightmares. Because I do adore Gordon Ramsay.
Maybe something interesting will have happened while I was away. I can post about that tomorrow. :P

I have been playing catch-up ever since getting home Monday afternoon. I think I'm just about going to get caught up in time to leave again on Tuesday. Oy.
( Creation Con )
( American Idol )
( Writing )
Other than that, I've been playing catch-up here at home. I didn't check any e-mail for LLGA and WFA while I was gone, and had a whole mess of nominations to get coded for both. There's laundry and shopping and cleaning, as well as preparing for my trip next week. And the birthday party I have to take Alicia tomorrow. And softball. And tball. And the fact that Craig is incapable of doing anything with the mail or bills, so I have to get that all caught up before I go, too.

I am a Marsters fangirl, see me buy a weekend pass to Creation's Grand Slam in Burbank because he's going to be there.
I'm so horribly predictable. :P

Well, after a night of poor sleep for fear of oversleeping and missing the ticket sales, I've got my premium ticket for the James con in LA in September. I can now relax and stop dreaming that I've missed the damn thing. :)
ETA: Jane Espenson is one of the guests! Of course, in my haste to guarantee I got a ticket, I only glanced over the event information and am now just going back to look to see who else is scheduled so far. I just hope I don't make a complete fool of myself in front of her again. :)

So...
It's been an interesting day. Lots of ups and downs, and I don't really have the time at the moment to go into most of it, but I just have to squee about the surprise at the banquet tonight.
Joss showed up to mingle around all the tables!!!!!!!
The man got mobbed out in the hall, and god, is he a lot thinner than I thought he'd be. He's also sporting a cane, though I never knew for sure what exactly that was for. It took him nearly an hour and a half to get to our table (we were sitting with Jenny Mollen and Drew Goddard), and then when he did, I just sat there, awestruck.
He was standing directly opposite me between Jenny and Drew while he talked to the table, and I didn't do anything but laugh at what was being said and stare the entire time. Then, when he was about to go, he looks at me, points at my wrist, and says, "I *love* your bracelet." It's a pewter beadwork piece of jewelry that has a triangular pattern that sits on the back of my hand with a chain link that goes to the middle finger and around my wrist in the opposite direction. I bought it in Toronto after searching for something like it for nearly 5 years, so I promptly had to tell him my little story of buying it.
It was probably really inane and I probably sounded like an idiot, but when I was done, he just kept nodding and smiling, and said, "That is just really cool."
So, that's my Joss moment. :) I feel so utterly fangirly and ridiculous, and now I keep wondering if I'll see my bracelet show up somehow in something he does in the future, lol.

- Mood:excited
Oh god. It's 6am on Saturday morning here in LA, and I'm wondering what the hell I'm doing up at this ungodly hour, especially since I didn't go to bed until nearly 2am last night. Oh yeah. Because some idiot at Booster's organizational meeting said, "Let's start the photo ops at 8am on Saturday! It'll be fun!" Pox on them, I say.
So I'm waking myself up by self-medicating with Mountain Dew and writing up about yesterday. Aren't you lucky? :)

- Mood:tired
Home. Exhausted. Had a wonderful time. Met a ton of wonderful people. Didn't get my laptop online all weekend, so it took me 2 hours to get caught up when I got home today.
I leave tomorrow for Toronto, and won't be back until next Monday. I'm *really* hoping that I'll be able to post while I'm out there. I won't, however, be posting Echoes this week. I just don't have the energy for it. Right now, I'm in the middle of doing laundry so that I have clean clothes to take to Toronto. I do have a couple pictures, but that's going to have to wait until I get back. However, a few highlights:
- James played an incredibly tight set on Friday night. There was no pimp shirt in sight, he was on key, his guitar playing was great, and I had a front row center seat, so yay! (The joys of buying early. :D)
- Armin Shimerman is the loveliest, most gracious *gentleman* I have ever met. Seriously. He was thought-provoking, intelligent, kind, and a sheer joy to have this weekend. I'm dying to see if I can still watch him as Snyder and see the character in the same way.
- David Fury actually made me see S5-6 Spike in a completely new way. I might actually have the balls to write a souled Spike story at some point. ;)
- And he's so *tall*! Wasn't expecting that.
- Conversely, Bianca was so *tiny*. And so young looking. And adorable. :)
- Amber Benson is too smart for her own good.
- Got to meet
manoah when the con was over. What an absolute delight! And her husband was so good in tolerating us prattling on about Spike, James, fanfic, Buffy, and the like. :)
- Jim Butcher read the first 2 chapters of his new book, though I only heard 1 of them because I was busy getting autographs. Still, I ran into him in the lobby afterward and asked if it was OK to gloat to everyone that I'd heard something that they hadn't, and he encouraged me highly. :D
- James admitted in his Q&A that the whole age hiding/lying thing when he was on the show was his fault. He got to LA, saw all the bios had actors that were 29, looked in the mirror and decided, "Yeah, I could be 29." The rest is history.
Hope everyone else is well. :)
