Well. Here it is. The final chapter of the story I began for seasonal_spuffy last spring. 78,000 words. Hardly my longest story, but I hope satisfying in the end.

I have to thank sadbhyl for all her work and coaxing along the way. Her appreciation and her excitement encouraged me when I was down and I'd be lost without her.

Even more, I want to thank each and every person who's been reading, whether from the beginning or just recently. I get overwhelmed each and every time people tell me how much they're enjoying it, or tell me what they laughed at, or shout at me for my awful cliffhangers. It reminds me why I write in the first place. It reminds me why I'm so glad to be a part of this fandom, or at least our little corner of it. Because we're a community, brought together from every walk of life, every corner of the world, to seek escape, to seek solace, to seek passion in the lives of these characters. I've discovered so many wonderful people through the Buffyverse, and I don't think you realize just how valuable all of you are to me. You are never going to believe it. I spent some time this past weekend thinking through my plot problems and found a solution. Which means...another chapter of Beg the Liquid Red!

I know, I can't believe it, either, lol. I'd almost given up on ever getting myself out of my hole, but it looks good to go again. I think. I just hope people are still interested in the story after all this time.

Let's hope today is better than yesterday, in terms of the internet. Yesterday, it crawled in the morning but resetting our router and modem cleared the problem until mid-afternoon, at which point it started crawling again. And going out completely. And for some inexplicable reason we have no dialtone on the phone. Craig called, and it wasn't a widespread error, but when they tried to get a response from our system, it failed. So today a phone guy is supposedly coming out to look at everything.

In the meantime, I've nicked Craig's little remote satellite network card that lets you get online wherever you can get satellite signal (one of his lovely toys from work, meant to make him accessible if he's on vacation but saved me from utter boredom during the long drive down to LA, bwahahaha!). I'm using this to try and get stuff done today before it gets fixed.

- My in-laws left the house at 6am this morning to return to England.
- The visit went so well, I invited them back at Christmas completely unsolicited.
- I won't be traveling any time in the near future. There's a possibility of going to visit my mom in August, but I figure I have at least 2 weeks of just being at home. Ah, bliss.

I know I didn't update this while my company was here, but updates will resume now. However, with half the fandom gone this weekend for WriterCon and others at ComicCon, I'm going to post this today and then post the next chapter next Wednesday.
