Another rather broad interview with Ms. Williams. Apparently she had heard of Joss because she used to watch a program that aired after Buffy and would see his name on the credits. :D
Words on the Wind is a new awards site dedicated to paranormal/supernatural/out-of-the-ordin ary and both BtVS and Ats are chosen fandoms. There are a LOT of categories to choose from, and BtVS and Ats are being treated as separate fandoms. (And for you Joss fans in general, both Firefly and Dollhouse are chosen fandoms as well).
So take some time out and head on over and make some nominations!

Apparently today was see as much as the bloody city in one day as I could manage. After grabbing a hot chocolate from Starbucks downstairs where some holdovers from the 80s punk era were dancing, I caught the "Historic" F Line to the Castro and Mission Districts. Took in Mission Dolores (or Mision San Francisco de Asis), the oldest intact mission. Forgot how much I love the smell of real, old churches--the wood, the incense, time... Headed over to Good Vibrations, but as that didn't open until 11 am (like everything else in the area), I had brunch at Frjtz. Really hot, thick Belgian fries with a Lemon Saffron Ainoil (?) sauce and lemonade. Burned the hell out of my mouth, but delicious. Then it was on to Good Vibrations (a sex shop, if you didn't figure that out). Very open, welcoming, and bright. Grabbed research books: The New Topping Book, The New Bottoming Book, S&M 101 and The Erotic Bondage Handbook. And yes, it really is research. I love writing erotic romance. :) Then, as recommended by
eurydice72, I hit A Different Light bookstore. Saw a Jamie Craig book on the shelves, which was rather cool--though, seeing India Harper would have been better. Picked up two mysteries by Mark Gatiss (yes, that Mark Gatiss) and a book in the Oscar Wilde mystery series. So much for trying to pare down my physical book collection.
Took the F Line back to the hotel, dropped off my books, and headed back out to catch the F Line again to Fisherman's Wharf to use two more of my City Pass tickets--Blue and Gold Cruises Bay Adventure Tour and Aquarium on the Bay. The boat tour was so I could say I've seen the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz, if I never manage to actually get there. Even took some nice pictures with the top of my head to prove I really was here. I used to be so anal about taking pictures of everything, but now when I really can take pictures of everything with digital I don't much care to. Hitting cranking crash mode after suffering with too many young kids at the aquarium, I had late lunch/early dinner at the Eagle Cafe. Had a delicious spinach salad with bacon, walnuts, bleu cheese, and balsamic vinaigrette, plus a Coke. The waitress was really nice with some great tats. Then I picked up a souvenir for Mom and four shirts for myself at the Only in San Francisco souvenir shop. Just need to get a couple pairs of socks and I'm set for clothes for the rest of my trip. Almost took the Powel-Hyde cable car back, but the line was too long and I had reached my limit for the day, so back on the F Line again. And wouldn't you know, for the second time today I landed #1062, a car that was in service in Philadelphia from 1948-88.
Was going to check out Writers With Drinks, but I kind of hit my limit with being out and about. Yes, it's early, but I'm still mentally on East Coast time. I also need to go back to the Castro/Mission area to hit Elixr Saloon.
Tomorrow I'll likely do the cable car thing and whatever else comes into my head. Then I've got dinner with Eury and her family in the evening. Should be good.

Hello everybody,
I'm writing a story in which a 19-year-old girl recieves a lobotomy, during 1953. I know inhalational anaesthetics were in use during this time, but does anyone know if they were used in conjunction with intravenous anesthetics, as they are today?
In addition, whether anesthetic was given inhalationally or intravenously, would it be normal practice to have the patient count down from 20 or 10 or whatever number? I know that's what happens today but not sure about 1950s.
I've tried to research a lot of this on my own but most articles about 50's era anesthetic is way too medical for me and focuses on the drugs and their usage rather than these sort of little bits. Hope you guys can help me!
