So yesterday, Craig came home from U-Haul with 50 new boxes for us to start packing. (Trying to find free boxes being given away has been a nightmare the past two weeks.) That means I'm - you guessed it - packing. And finding stuff I haven't seen in years. And getting rid of stuff.

A lot of stuff is going to Good Will or I'm freecycling it, but there is some that I can't do either with, that I don't want to just throw away if I don't have to. So if I think it's appropriate, you might find stuff here on my LJ.

Like what I've giving away today.

A couple years ago at Phauxcon, [info]makd was clearing out her printed/bound fanfic, and I picked up a two-volume copy of Misty Flores' "How to Date a Beautiful Woman (In Less Than One Week)." It's an AtS fic, for those who are curious (details here). I'm offering it today to the first person who asks for it. These are the conditions:

1. If you're in the US, I'll pay the postage, so there will be absolutely no cost to you.
2. If you're in the UK, I'll still pay the postage, but you have to wait until after 7/14 for it to get mailed because I'll send it over with the kids when they visit their grandparents and have my MIL mail it from over there.
3. If you're anywhere else, you'll have to pay the postage, because it can get a little expensive to ship stuff overseas, and this is a 2-volume set that weighs over 2 pounds.

So that's it. There might be more stuff to come over the next two months. I have a lot of stuff, lol.

Oh, it's great to see that you're using "the makd method" of sharing. ::hugs::

If no one picks up on the offer, let me know, and I'll mention it on my LJ. I have a few Angel/Cordy 'shippers that might be interested...

I will definitely let you know. I really don't want to have to throw it away. :)

Your local Barnes and Noble should have lots of boxes, or Borders.

We've tried there a couple times, as well as the bigger stores. There's a ton of moving going on lately, and we are just having no luck actually getting boxes. Craig showed up at a guy's house the other day to pick some up, and there was actually a fight over who was taking the boxes (not Craig, a couple others who were there).

Oh god, I loved that fic.

Have you gone dumpster diving at the mall? My folks always find boxes there when they need them.

Does that mean you'd like it? You're the first to nibble, and it's all bound and pretty...

Yeah, we even tried the mall. We found a few, but not very many, not nearly enough considering how much crap we have. I miss when we moved to the UK the first time. Just me and Craig, and no toys, none of the junk we've accumulated over the ten years...

As much as I'd love it? I'm also in a purging phase. I don't need to bring anything more into the house. The spouse will kill me.

Isn't it scary how much stuff we accumulate? All I did today was work on my closet, which meant I did boxes of Buffy stuff, some leftover Christmas stuff, and art supplies. Yet, I have 2 bags to go to Good Will tomorrow and 1 bag of rubbish.

It's very frightening.

Seriously! I keep passing stuff to my sister for my nephew. That's helping somewhat. Too bad a bunch of it came back to be stored in my attic cause we have more room.

I keep looking at my closet and shuddering. It needs a good purge in the worst way. I'm just too chicken.

After I was done, Craig walked into our closet to see what it looked like, then walked out and said, "I'm scared. It doesn't look like you did anything, yet we have 5 new boxes in the garage."

And I was like, "Dude! The door opens all the way now! And the art supply cabinet is empty except for 2 shelves!"

His response was just a roll of his eyes before he walked away. I wanted to slap him, lol.

Hey hun, I'd like to have it, if it hasn't been snatched up yet :)

It's yours!

I've got your address already (unless it's changed since Christmas), so I'll get that out to you in the next day or two. :)
